Skyborne shaman
Horde-aligned Skyborne only

How to read these labels. Confirmed — Stated by Blizzard at BlizzCon or in official material. Strong signal — Datamined, or consistent across every previous Classic launch. Usually right. Speculative — Our read. Reasoned, but not fact, and we will say so when it turns out wrong. Unknown — Nobody has said. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
Why it makes sense
Zephras Isle’s whole story is elemental: a civilisation built around wind elementals that have disappeared. A shaman — someone who speaks to the elements rather than commanding them — is the obvious class to put on that island, and it explains the faction split. Airy, elemental Skyborne go Horde; arcane, Highborne-tradition Skyborne go Alliance.
What actually matters: the racials
Nobody picks a Classic shaman race for flavour. Orc racials — the stun resistance in particular — have decided Horde class choice for twenty years. Whether Skyborne shaman is a real option or a cosmetic one depends entirely on racial abilities that have not been announced.
Treat every "best Skyborne shaman build" article published before beta with suspicion, including the enthusiasm in ours. We will rate it properly once the numbers exist.
The talent revamp changes the baseline too
Forever rebuilds the talent trees with the stated goal that a class feels entirely distinct depending on where the points go. For shaman — historically the class most squeezed between three half-viable specs in Classic — that is potentially the larger story. Enhancement being genuinely playable at 60 would reshape Horde raid composition more than any racial.
