Human hunter
New race and class combination
Hunter comes to the most common Alliance race. It was dwarf and night elf only for the entire history of Classic; Forever adds a third option.

How to read these. VERIFIED — Stated by Blizzard in official material. We will tell you to act on this. PROVISIONAL — Datamined, reported, or our own read. Good enough to plan around, not good enough to bet on. It may change. AWAITING VERIFICATION — Nobody has said yet. We are not going to make something up to fill the gap.
The most-played race gets a pet class
Human has been the default Alliance race for two decades because it lacks a defining weakness, not because it excels at anything in particular. Adding hunter to its class list doesn’t change that racial calculus — it changes who is willing to level a hunter at all. Plenty of players default to human out of habit or roleplay preference and previously had to pick a different race to play hunter. Now they don’t have to choose.
What it doesn’t change
Dwarf and night elf remain the races with a specific Classic-era reason to pick hunter — dwarf for its gun-specialisation flavour, night elf for Shadowmeld’s PvP and pet-vanishing utility. Human adds a third option without displacing either; it widens the choice rather than rebalancing it.
What to watch
The changed human racials, once Blizzard names them, and whether any interact with ranged weapon skill or pet management specifically.
